This picture appeared in The Washington Post sometime in late January or early February 1938. The headline reads, “Hyattsville Students to Appear in Shakespearean Play. The cutline reads, “'The Taming of the Shrew' will be presented by students of Hyattsville High School tomorrow and Friday nights under the direction of Dennis Brown, English teacher. Playing the leading roles are Myrle Augustine of Cheverly, Md., Kennard Calfee, of Riverdale, Md., and Martha Ann Cotterman, of College Park, Md, shown above in costume.”

The program in her scrapbook is dated Feb 3-4, 1938 and signed by several of the cast members. It shows that Myrle Augustine played the part of Katharina, the shrew.

Other programs show her playing the part of Miss Newton in “Call It A Day” by Tom Taggert Feb 11-12, 1937 and Sadie in “Flash of Red” by Manta S. Graham November 18-19, 1937. Her older brother, Fran Augustine, played the part of Mr. Brown in “Call It A Day.”

High School letter in Dramatics for 1938. Note that it is signed by the same person as mentioned in the cutline above as the director of the play.
